Microneedling is a safe and effective treatment that uses tiny needles to cause localised, controlled injury to the tissues to stimulate a cascade of healing factors which in turn leads to the rejuvenation of the skin. There is no need to worry, these “micro-injuries” do not leave scars. What they do is to help stimulate the skin to repair itself in a natural process called dermal remodelling.

Microneedling can be used to:

  • Help stretch marks
  • Improve scars
  • Reduce pigmentation
  • Help fine lines and wrinkles
  • Help re-texturise the skin
  • Help tighten the skin

How does it work?

Microneedling involves the use of a device with tiny needles injected into the skin to cause a localised injury. Some patients will require a local anaesthetic cream to numb the area before the treatment. The local injury sets off a cascade of healing factors that stimulate regeneration of the skin, improving blood flow leading into a targeted rejuvenation of the skin.

After the treatment, there will be some reddening of the skin hence immediately after, it is not advisable to wear any makeup apart from Oxygenetix foundation which provides both healing and coverage.

Results are visible after 4 to 6 weeks and continuous improvements are expected afterwards. Maintenance treatments are recommended for optimal results.

Microneedling can be used in conjunction with other rejuvenating procedures such as:

  • PRP
  • Dermal Fillers
  • Skin Peels
