Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is Mother Nature’s facelift. It uses the regenerative properties of the platelets in your blood, releasing *Growth Factors into surrounding tissues to stimulate collagen, elastin production, and increasing circulation. This in turn produces a natural, younger, healthier and vital appearance. It can restore a youthful glow to the face, eye area, and décolletage.

PRP treatment is one of my favourite treatments due to its healing and regenerative properties. It has been originally used in open heart surgery in 1987 and since then, it has been widely used in Orthopaedic surgery, eye surgery, cosmetic surgery, wound healing, and skin grafts.

Commonly known as Vampire Facelift, autologous PRP is prepared from your own blood, harvesting the platelets which releases essential growth factors involved in natural stimulation of cells. This process then enables cells to regenerate and revitalise damaged tissues while avoiding a risk of local immunological reaction. In simple words, it’s using your own healthy *Growth Factors re-injected into the skin to stimulate new cells. We are using what Mother Nature endowed us with – rich, living, healthy cells.

We can combine PRP with Hyaluronic Acid and Mesotherapy in one procedure, to further enhance the rejuvenating, volumising, and refreshing effects of the PRP.

Note: *Growth factors are organic compounds such as amino acids, purines, pyrimidines, and vitamins that a cell must have for growth but cannot synthesise itself.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is it?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a procedure that involves taking a blood sample, concentrating the platelets from that sample and re-injecting the platelets back into the body to assist healing and to regenerate tissues.

How does it work?

This procedure uses the regenerative power of your blood to rejuvenate your skin. This naturally occurs because the platelets secrete a concentrated mix of Growth Factors. These stimulate skin thickening, dermal restructuring, new vessel formation, stem cell migration, which, in turn feed and nourish the skin. If you are a woman who puts a high premium on your health, this treatment is for you! It is true prevention and regeneration rolled into one treatment!

What areas can be treated?

It can be used anywhere, but is especially good for wrinkling skin around the eyes, jaw line, lower-face, around the lips, cheeks, mid-face volume loss, chest and décolletage, acne scarring, stretch marks, neck wrinkling, re-growth of areas where there is hair loss and the back of the hands.

How will I look after my treatment?

A slight reddening and swelling of the site of the injection will be temporarily visible. You will leave with a thin flush PRP mask which you are advised to wash after 24 hours. Occasional bruising may occur which can be covered with concealer and foundation makeup.

Does it hurt?

The injections can be a little uncomfortable so before your treatment an anaesthetic cream will be applied to the treatment area.

When will I see the results?

The protocol for best results is 3 sessions and 4 weeks apart. A repeat session is recommended between 6 or 12 months depending on the needs of your skin. Most people see results after the 2nd session and the improvement in the skin will continue even after 6 months.

How often do I need to repeat the treatment?

This can be repeated in 6 to 12 months.
