Want to be healthy but have no time to cook?

Want to eat clean but not the kitchen goddess type?

Looking for some healthy variations including healthy desserts?

I’ve got you covered in this week’s blog covering my favourite healthy take-aways.

You probably have all good intentions to eat clean and to stay healthy but it can be a challenge at times, either you’re too busy at work, studying, with the children or you’re just not the kitchen goddess type (I’m with you on that one, I love to eat and I’m happy to support other kitchen goddesses).

Fortunately there are plenty of healthy, organic eateries and companies popping up everywhere so it’s easier than ever to eat healthy. Grocery stores are also getting wiser to this, promoting organic, healthy options following the footsteps of the likes of Whole Foods and Planet Organic.

However if you ever just want to switch off and leave the cooking to someone else but really can’t be bothered to queue up waiting for your take away at your favourite healthy food stores and you don’t want to feel guilty after eating the standard take-aways, here are some healthy ideas for you to try:

1. EAT FIRST – if you want something quick and don’t like too many options.

This is pretty good with about 10 featured meals each day. You can pre-order your meal a week in advance or up to 4pm the same day. Each day is different and you can choose from vegetarian, seafood, meat or poultry options.

2. TANYA’S CAFE – if you are into raw food.

One of the best raw food cafes in town and they do home deliveries as well…woohoo!

Everything is raw living, plant-based, hand-picked, organically grown, ethically sourced and free from refined sugar, dairy or gluten. Imagine having nachos, risottos, pad thai, curry noodles, tacos, pizzas…all in raw living food style, plus the usual amazing salads. They do the best guilt-free desserts and superfood lattes too (think matcha, cordyceps, chaga and chai).

3. LUMA CAFE – if you want to support a local business.

Really cute and healthy eating cafe started by a mother and daughter in Wimbledon. I like supporting local small eateries too so this is perfect for a healthy get-together with girlfriends or just a chilled out space with a garden for some creative writing.

I love their menu – all nutritiously rich, dense, tasty food. The portions are pretty generous and they also offer vegetarian and vegan options too. They do noodle bowls, sweet jacket potatoes, wraps, smoothies, super salad bowls, alkalising bowls and you must try their miso soup! LOVE!

I realise this cafe wont be local for you necessarily, but try and find your own local, independent and healthy cafe. Support the little guys!

4. EATEVOLVE – if you are into the paleo diet.

Paleo is a diet based on the types of foods presumed to have been eaten by early humans, consisting chiefly of meat, fish, vegetables, and fruit and excluding dairy or cereal products and processed food.

This was started by two gentleman when they saw how hard it was for health conscious people, living a busy city lifestyle, to eat clean and natural meals. The pictures of their sample menus will definitely make you salivate. It’s all paleo inspired and it looks so good, you can’t believe it’s all healthy.

5. VELO – if you like Vietnamese food

Of all the Asian food, I feel Vietnamese food is the healthiest. Fancy some fresh summer rolls in rice paper and healthy mango salads in homemade fish sauce? Or even the famous Vietnamese noodle soup Pho in a healthy nutritious broth simmered all day long?

Mmmm…yes please!

Their entire menu is MSG-free and they also cater for vegetarians, vegans, gluten-free and halal diets, which is brilliant!

And there it is…some healthy take-away ideas for you to try.

I recommend you look through their websites and whichever you like the look of, put their number in your phone, so when you’re feeling hungry, before your sugar levels drop to the point of making bad decisions with your food choices…you have it on speed-dial ready to come to your hunger rescue.

I hope you found this blog useful. Let me know if you would like more of these kind of blogs.

Over to you…

Recommend your favourite healthy take-aways and I may feature it in my future blogs.

What food hacks have you found useful when you’re too busy to cook but still want to eat healthily?

I would love to hear from you.
