One of my favourite treatments is the RegenPRP facial also popularly known as the Vampire Facial (although I don’t like that term, it was coined by the media to make it sound “sexy”).
The only thing sexy about this treatment is that it uses your own growth factors from your blood plasma to rejuvenate the skin. It’s a form of bio-rejuvenation.
Platelet Rich Plasma (containing growth factors and plasma) have many functions including:
- Angiogenesis – increasing blood circulation to the area treated, so perfect for dark circles under the eyes and bringing back a little glow to the skin.
- Antibacterial – fighting against bacteria so perfect for acne prone skin.
- Restructuring dermal layers by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, firming the skin.
- Acts as project managers to attract and boost new cells e.g. natural moisturising factors and hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump the skin.
- Contains rich nutrients and antioxidants which feeds and repair the skin.
- Thickening the epidermal layers, making it more resilient, less sensitive and prevent transepidermal water loss.
A RegenPRP facial can be enhanced by other modalities e.g. light skin peel, micro-needling and/or application of light therapy after the treatment.
There are different types of PRP treatment:
- RegenPRP Vampire Facial – where only the PRP liquid is used and this is best for skin rejuvenation.
- RegenPRP Vampire Facelift – where both the PRP liquid and PRP mixed with hyaluronic acid is used to rejuvenate the skin plus adding a little more volume to reduce the appearance of lines, folds and darkness under the eyes.
- RegenPRP/ HA – where just the PRP mixed with hyaluronic acid, it’s mainly used for hollowness under the eyes. This is ideal for patients who prefer not to go down the dermal filler route.
However there are patients who have come to me sharing that they had PRP in the past with other practitioners and it did not work. I always advise with any treatment, results depend on how healthy the patient is, their daily skin routine and the products and technique used by the practitioner. Some patients are nervous about this treatment as they’ve seen the very red picture of Kim Kardashian in the media.
I created this video to share with you a live treatment with one of my longest standing patients. In this video, I only did the PRP without the peel, micro-needling or light. By adding more modalities, there may be more skin preparation and downtime.
If you would like to know if you would be suitable for this treatment, you can also watch a more recent video I created “Is PRP Vampire Facelift right for you?”
I hope you found this blog useful and if you have any questions or would like to book in for a consultation to assess your suitability, you can contact my team on 0203 6338812, email [email protected] or complete our Contact Form.

Warmest regards,
comments / question about you videos on PRP .
Thank you for those videos . Watching them, i ‘D LIKE TO ASK A FEW QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TREATMENT SHOWING YOUR LOVELY PATIENT SYLVIA.
i’ve noticed Dr Terry does not treat the “eye area” or the forehead : are those not treatable with PRP ?
Secondly , Dr Terry does not mention idf she solely used PRP or a combined version with hyaluronic acid to achieve the result ( filling for loss of volume) we see at the end.
How many treatments did Sylvia did to be looking that good? is it achievable after one treatment of PRP?
on average how long before we start to see the results ( weeks / days?) .
post treatment what can we expect ?
any bruising / redness (ie: broken capillaries) ( I got some broken capillaries after a mesotherapy session .is the face terribly swollen?how long does this usually last? ..
Hi M, thanks for the great questions. You can find a lot of information about the treatment in the relevant pages and blogs but to answer your questions specifically:-
A) PRP can be used to treat the eye area and the forehead. Using PRP for the eyes is one of my favourite treatment. With Sylvia, her concern was always around her cheeks and mouth area, hence we focused on these areas for the video.
B) for this video I did we Sylvia, we only used the PRP liquid and PRP gel which is created by adding Thrombin, a natural agent in the blood to start the clotting cascade. Since that video, new advancement in PRP have been made and now they have 2% Hyaluronic Acid in the PRP blood collecting vials which I now use solely for the plumping effect.
C) That was Sylvia’s 2nd PRP treatment in the video. She has been with me for more than 2 years since then having different treatments eg skin boosters, muscle relaxants and dermal fillers. She has a history of smoking which she is trying to cut down so I focused on a treatment that only helped with improving the lines she was concerned about but also improve the circulation in the skin which PRP is great for.
D) In regards to results after one treatment, this depends on the status of the skin beforehand, your medical history, goals and concerns. Patients do see a freshening after one treatment but again this depends on individuals. Always best to have a consultation beforehand for me to access.
E) Results can be seen within the week and continues to improve. There will be a 2-3 days downtime ie mild swelling, bruising and tenderness. Again this will depend on how much is done, the area treated and any predisposing medical history. For maximum effect, I recommend leaving the plasma mask on the face for at least 24 hours after the treatment.
F) In the clinic, after a full face PRP treatment, patients are put under an Omnilux Plus light therapy for 20minutes which helps to reduce redness, swelling and helps the PRP penetrate deeper into the skin and enhance the results. There will also be a tightening effect with the light therapy.
I hope this answer your questions. If you have any further questions, I would recommend speaking to one of my team members on 02071278108 or email [email protected]. They would be able to help you.
