When I was given the menu of vitamin infusions available, I chose the “IV Stress and Anxiety Drip” not that I was feeling stress at that time but I knew there were a lot of things going on in my life and business so needed something to help me manage my stress better, so I didn’t burn out.

SO WHAT’S IN THE BAG?

  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin B-12 (Hydroxycobalamin)
  • Vitamin B5 (Dexpanthenol)
  • Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)
  • B Complex
  • Magnesium Sulphate
  • Calcium Gluconate
  • Selenium
  • Zinc
  • Glutathione
  • Carnitine
  • Cysteine
  • Methionine
  • Taurine

This infusion contains many vitamins, minerals and amino-acids that I like. I also added an extra boost of glutathione which is the master anti-oxidant and is a powerful anti-ager, mopping up free radicals, allowing my body to repair more efficiently.

If you would like to know what each ingredient can do and how it would benefit you, I recommend looking at the ingredient directory on Intravita

In this blog, I just wanted to share with you my experience of having my first vitamin infusion.

DURING THE INFUSION

The infusion was delivered by a small cannula in my vein on the front my elbow. Cannulas are tiny blunt tubes which is inserted with a needle but the needle is taken out and the cannula is left behind and secured with a plaster. The drip was set to run about 2ml/minute but I had control of the dial which allowed me to speed up the infusion if I felt okay with it.

As the infusion continued, I felt a warm sensation at the back of my neck, my head and even on my bottom. This was the Magnesium Sulphate kicking in as it causes vasodilation to relax the muscles and create a flush of blood flow through certain areas. I saw another patient who had flushing of her face when I did not have any.

I felt warm and needed to open the windows for some fresh air. If I increased the speed of the infusion, I felt light headed and had slight palpitations too.  Luckily my blood pressure was fine and after slowing it down and drinking plenty of water, I was fine.

Some people have a taste of Berocca in their mouth – that’s the Vitamin C working but I didn’t get that sensation. My arm was aching though – was told I was running the infusion too fast and it was my first time. I slowed it down and gently massaged my arm which helped.

As I was halfway my infusion (about 15 minutes in), I felt really relaxed – Like after a nice relaxing massage session. Normally when I know my body is tired, my mind can still make it go, go, go. But this felt like my body just took over and told me I needed rest.

AFTER THE INFUSION

About 1-2 hours after, I felt really thirsty and tired. Had a slight headache which can happen as it was like detoxifying my system. I know if I had more infusions as part of a program, I will feel better and no longer toxic. I took a nap as my body just felt so relaxed and my head felt heavy.

2 hours onwards, I felt super hungry. My muscles felt heavy though like I just been for an exercise session. However I felt calm and had a good night sleep afterwards.

The next morning, I woke up refresh and my mind was super clear. My skin felt AMAZING! Didn’t expect that but it felt smooth, firm and it was glowing.

I felt great the next few days and noticed I handled the week pretty well.
